Palm Springs

Palm Springs

Well, the reason for my absence was due to our annual winter conference. This year in Palm Springs. This was the view from my hotel room.

Trivia; these golf courses are apparently irrigated with "grey" water. This is water that has been recycled. Not only that. The water is stored in the various ponds and water features you typically see on a golf course such as this. When the saturation of the ground reduces to a certain amount water is then drawn from these ponds and any excess drains back into these. The reason that the water is able to drain back is because each hole is on a bed of (I think) concrete. So, quite a sustainable way to provide the much needed water. That said I dare say in the height of summer that there must be a lot of evaporation.
