Highland Roadworks

Highland Roadworks

This image follows the previous but a mile further along the road. By the skin of my teeth, I had managed to traverse the narrow road (with passing places for cars) through the mountain that heads toward Applecross. I'm just beginning to relax when I round a bend only to be confronted by this scene.

To the left you can see that they are removing the rock face. I and fellow travellers had nowhere else to go and so had to patiently wait ten minutes as they painstakingly drilled into the stone.
