Threshing the Wheat

Threshing the Wheat

Again Cuba never ceased to amaze me. I found myself riding around on a too small bike a friend kindly lent me with my knees around my ears style in the Vinales landscape. After two hours of cycling up and down the undulating landscape in the midday heat I was relieved to find myself bumping down a gentle slope and rather than think about the ride back decided to see where it led. I found this scene in the midst of a verdant landscape. I couldn't believe that they were striking the wheat against the back of the cart just behind these oxen. It was like stepping back in time to the 19th Century.
