Bit of a gratuitous shot for a Monday but this is docking. Placement of a rubber ring around testicles (that part complete in this image) and tail of lambs. This prevents infestation of the tail and also stops male lambs becoming rams. I must admit that they took this procedure far better than I would, with very little bleating. They are so sweet. The blue on his hands is casued by a spray applied to the feet to prevent infection (I got it all over me!). One lamb was limping badly. In his foot we found a two inch thorn, 3/4 of which was buried into the gap between its hoof. Ouch!
