These silos are not too far from where I live. 12am one night I decided to shoot them. The silos are located a quarter of a mile down a concrete road. Nicely isolated and peaceful, you'd think.
I get out the car, set up the tripod, trip the shutter and then take in my surroundings. Only then do I realise that I can hear the thrum of pounding techno. Just the bass, not the actual detail. When the bass relented, you could hear people whooping and cheering. Cannot believe it. Sleepy old Oxfordshire and I thought raves met their demise after the Criminal Justice & Public Order Act, 1994 was passed.
I considered going to check it out because I like dance music but felt turning up with a grands worth of equipment dangling from my neck, unannounced, didn't seem like a good plan. Shame really. Sounded excellent.
